The story would focus on their interactions between each other and Taylor, and their thoughts on the world at large. He would focus on improving Taylor's investigative and combat skills.

He hates the idea of using summoned underlings, since its pretty much slavery and he's convinced that they are not projections and can still feel. He tends to appear in the guises of the humans he's met in his game (William Carter, Alan Weir) and mimics their personalities to better relate to humans. Asaru, on the other hand, is more hot-headed and idealistic, and fulfills the role of Taylor's Tactics. He would be Taylor's Strategy, focusing on improving her charisma and time and resource management skills. He admits now that the Combine were probably not the best saviors for humanity in his world, but as soon as he sees the chaos and needless suffering of Earth Bet, he is convinced that this world needs a firm hand to bring it to heel and prevent it from squandering the great powers bestowed upon it. We'll be focus on their thoughts and opinions to the world they've found themselves in.īreen is calm, charming, and a little cynical. Instead, it will focus on her gathering information on the many factions of Brokton Bay and experimenting with her powers, as well as interacting with her two constant mental companions, which will be another big feature to the fic.

As the start, Taylor can only summon a few lowly henchmen (maybe a Sectoid and Headcrab she keeps as pets) and she barely understands how to use any guns that her powers provide, be they high-tech or otherwise. Now, because it would be boring to just have Taylor curbstomp everything in Brokton Bay, I would focus on the planning, buildup, and interactions between characters.

On the XCOM side, she can summon the Zudjari, the Pandora Virus from Phoenix Point, and even the mutated, nightmarish Transgeants from UFO: Aftermath. On the Half-Life side, this includes the cut enemies Cremators, Race X from Opposing Force, and even Aperture Turrets (remember, Half-Life and Portal are mutually canon). As she trains and begins to adapt to her powers, she will learn to summon bigger, badder gear and minions, including entities and material that aren't normally canon. With their guidance, Taylor is able to summon and control famous enemies and equipment from both franchises, from Metrocops, Overwatch, Headcrabs, and Synths to Sectoids, Cryssalids, ADVENT, and Mutons. My idea is for a triple crossover (potentially quintuple crossover and beyond) where Talyor wakes up from the locker with a Master/Stranger combo pack, including the voices and astral projections of two uninvited guests in her noggin: a half-Advisor hybrid Wallace Breen and the Super Etheral Asaru from The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

So there's a fic for XCOM, Because Of The War: Because of The War (Worm/XCOM 2 Alt!Power, AU)Īnd a fic for Half-Life (another great game series I love), Overwatch: Overwatch To me, Worm, with its characters and setting, exist more as a toolbox for aspiring writers and can be as flexible as anyone wants it to be.

Now, you should all know that I didn't really read much of Worm proper, as the fanfiction on sites like this and Spacebattles are much more interesting in my opinion.

Everyone seems to be ignoring it, so I'll post it again here. I can't imagine a Persona crossover unless it's something like examine of PSI powers and Ethereals.Īlso, there's this one neat little idea I had for a Worm crossover between this and another great video game series involving alien empires.
